Negative Split Productions was founded in 2014 with the goal of producing the premier endurance events in the greater Houston area. Tony Sapp, founder and owner of Negative Split Productions, was an avid runner and triathlete who began assisting in the production of events in 2012 as the volunteer coordinator for Onurmark Productions. When he decided to step into the Race Director role and begin the development of the Run Houston! Race Series in early 2014, Negative Split Productions was born.
The Beginning
A lifestyle sparks an idea
After participating in several triathlons and running events starting in 2009, Tony began his career in event production in 2012 when he responded to a Facebook post from Onurmark Productions for a volunteer coordinator. After a few events training and learning the ropes, Tony was the Volunteer Coordinator for the 2013 Kemah Triathlon and from that point on he was hooked. While continuing to work his full time job as a Systems Engineer as NASA on the International Space Station Program, Tony worked events on the weekends as a coordinator and general race labor learning all facets of the work needed to produce large scale endurance events. In March 2014, Tony went to the owner of Onurmark Productions for assistance in producing his own running event “somewhere near NASA” and, after a brief conversation, the concept for the Run Houston! Race Series was born. Less than a month later, Tony had formed Negative Split Productions and just two months after that he left his fulltime job to pursue a career in endurance event production.

The Future
Evolving the business & industry
In 2018, Tony decided to take his production business in a new direction by offering the experience and expertise gained through putting on events with thousands of participants to other event directors.
Today, Negative Split Productions offers a variety of race services including accurate and on-time timing & results, unique & cost effective race awards, turnkey virtual race services, and general event consulting.
