Young athletes running out of transition at the Houston Kids Tri

The world's biggest first finish line.

Put your brand in front of thousands of West Houston families on the morning their kid becomes a triathlete. They remember who was there.

The event

Houston's biggest family morning.

It is the largest kids triathlon in the world, and it happens every spring in Katy. Just over sixteen hundred kids from 6 to 17 swim, bike, and run a real, age-graded course with real timing, real numbers, and a real finish line. For most of them it is the first race of their life, and the whole family comes to see it.

For a sponsor, the audience is the opportunity. Every athlete arrives with parents, grandparents, and siblings, which is how a field of sixteen hundred becomes roughly ten thousand people on site. They are not passing through. They spend the entire morning between the swim, transition, the course, and the festival, and the adults holding the phones and the wallets are with them the whole time.

When
Spring 2027, morning waves by age group. An annual tradition and the largest event on our calendar.
Where
Katy, Texas, in the heart of West Houston. A closed-course swim, bike, and run in one venue.
Distances
Age-graded swim, bike, and run distances for ages 6 to 17, in waves through the morning, plus a first-timer division.
2027 projection
Just over 1,600 athletes, and approximately 10,000 on site once you count parents, siblings, and grandparents. The largest on-site audience of any event we produce.
Who runs it

The parents who decide, on site all morning.

Kids Tri does not reach a runner. It reaches a household. The buyer is a West Houston parent in their late thirties or forties with the discretionary income to fund a kid in three sports, and the day is built so that they are standing still, in a festival footprint, for hours. That is a rare thing to sell: a captive family audience in a good mood, in one of the most affluent zip code clusters in Texas, watching their child do something they will talk about all year.

Questions

Houston Kids Triathlon questions.

Who actually sees our brand here?

Parents. This is the largest kids triathlon in the world, and while the kids are the participants, the buying decisions in the crowd belong to the families watching them. It is a full weekend with bike check-in the day before, so families are on site far longer than at a typical race, and they are in an unusually good mood while they are there.

What is the swim cap?

Every child in the event receives a swim cap and wears it for the swim leg. It carries the Presenting sponsor's logo, it appears in a very high share of the photos parents take and post, and it goes home in the bag afterward. It is one of the few assets at any of our events that is genuinely kept.

Are there activations built for family brands?

Yes, and they are the reason a lot of brands choose this event. Kid Zone, Kids Market, and the transition area are all available as named roles, which means the space carries your name rather than just your logo. If your product is aimed at families or children, these are a better buy than a standard tier.

What does a sponsorship actually get us on event day?

It depends on the level, but every package includes a reserved 10'x10' booth space and the right to run activities from it: sampling, a raffle, lead capture, whatever fits your brand. From there it scales. Higher levels add your logo to the things participants keep (the finish medal, the event shirt, their race photos) and the things everyone walks past (the start and finish arch, course signage, the LED screen).

Can we be the only brand in our category?

Yes. Category exclusivity means no competing brand in your category is sold into that event, and it is included automatically with a Presenting sponsorship. At Premier and Supporting it is available as an add-on. It is worth asking early: once a category is committed to another brand for an edition, it is gone for that year.

Do we have to take one of the standard packages?

No. The tiers and named roles are the standard ways in because they are the ones most brands want, but every asset we offer can be combined into a custom package. Tell us the budget and what you are trying to accomplish and we will put a mix together. Plenty of partnerships end up as a tier plus one or two additions from somewhere else on the menu.

We are a small local business. Is there a level that fits?

Yes. Vendor and Booth partnerships are $750 and get you in front of the crowd with a reserved booth and announcer mentions. It is the same event, the same audience, at a size that makes sense for a local shop or a single-location business.

Can we sponsor more than one event?

Yes, and it is the better deal if the audiences all work for you. The NSP Annual Partner package is one agreement covering Houston Resolution Run, Houston Kids Triathlon, and Houston Fourth Fest, at a discount to what those three cost bought separately. It is one negotiation, one invoice, and one set of artwork deadlines instead of three.

How far ahead do we need to commit?

Earlier is better, and the reason is production deadlines rather than sales pressure. Anything printed (shirts, medals, race numbers, course signage, the arch banner) has a hard art deadline weeks before the event, and once it passes those assets are off the table for that edition. The on-site and digital pieces stay available much later. If you are close to a deadline, ask, and we will tell you honestly what can still be included for that edition.

Is it cash only, or will you take in-kind?

Cash is the preference, and most partnerships are cash. The door is open to in-kind when the product or service is something the event actually needs, and a few roles are well suited to it. If you think you have something that fits, raise it early. We look at those case by case and will tell you straight whether it works rather than trying to make it fit.

What do we get after the event?

A recap report covering how the event performed and where your brand showed up: participation numbers, the digital and email reach your logo was part of, and photography of your branding and activation on site. It is the thing you forward internally when someone asks whether the sponsorship was worth renewing.
